the HOWL: Galliard ReviewsThe Sept was hit with a double feature from Galliard Cal Peterson; we bring you the review. The first story we suffered through was so unremarkable, so forgetable, we have no review because we fell asleep and drooled all over our notes. The second story was entitled "How the Wolves Learned to Fly." It began by relating an incident mocking a few Black Furies. The Galliard's tale also omitted relevant facts, making the Furies look even worse. On a related note, look in next month's issue for our special recipe, Shredded Galliard. The yarn actually moved forward, and we did not fall asleep. However, the overuse of swearing makes one suspect that the storyteller has the vocabulary of a 7th grade schoolyard bully, and the attention span to match. The story culminated in relating the night's battle, which all were pleased to hear. The general agreement was that it was "not bad." This critic, however, while recovering from earache, was disappointed that Gallaird standards for the Sept have been set so low. "You know what's sad," an anonymous viewer commented to this critic, "This is better than 80% of the stuff we usually hear." Storytellers, take note. |
